The zoo is now located at 747 Clubview Drive, Big Bear Lake. This new location continues the zoo's mission of providing a safe haven for alpine wildlife, with a focus on rehabilitation and release.Located just across the street from the famous Bear Mountain Ski Resort, the Big Bear Alpine Zoo at Moonridge has been saving and rehabilitating animals in Big Bear since the year 1959, when an enormous forest fire nearly devastated the San Bernardino National Forest and its animal residents.A small zoo in the heart of Big Bear Lake, the Alpine Zoo has rescued and rehabilitated wildlife here since 1959. The animals that cannot be released back into the wild are given a permanent home in the zoo.
