Your Allison came with Dex-IV in it from GM, Dex-IV is a synthetic and a very good fluid. Doing a double drain is a waste of money personally. Change it to your fluid of choice and change it again 25k later. If you're going to deviate from Dex-IV pick and TES 668 fluid and sleep happy. Easy enough, but for anyone doing it, don’t take the shield with the housing. All you need to do are the two 13mm bolts at the back, top/side.
