Power band on a 2 stroke

May 19, 2019 · Posted May 19, 2019. Hello, I have recently bought a 1999 kx125. The only problem is it has a little trouble getting into the power band. If you rip the throttle the rpms slowly rise, then the power band kicks in. But if you hold it for the rpms to get a little higher, a second power band seems to hit, where the bike takes off with power.
